Job Title: Civil-Site Development Engineer
Location: Mobile, AL
Salary Range: $100,000 - $190,000 Yearly
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Primary Responsibilities:
- Adhere to department design and drafting standards.
- Review project scope, specifications, and design criteria at project onset.
- Perform medium-complexity design calculations and assignments.
- Develop reports for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Assist in design tasks for more complex assignments.
- Check calculations by other engineers for accuracy and code compliance.
- Create conceptual layouts and conduct cost studies.
- Draft plans and details for engineering drawings.
- Conduct fieldwork for data collection, tie-in verification, and construction support.
- Develop detailed construction specifications outlining scope, instructions, and quality standards.
- Conduct land development and zoning code research for civil-site projects.
- Collaborate with lead engineers to assess project scope changes.
- Review and check submittal drawings and documentation.
- Lead small teams, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
- Assist in estimating service hours, scheduling, and assessing civil/structural project progress.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Registration: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required. EIT registration may be considered if licensure can be achieved within six months.
- Experience: 4–6 years of relevant civil-site engineering experience in an industrial, commercial, government, or infrastructure setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, AREMA, NRCS, NFPA).
- Proficiency with civil stormwater analysis software (e.g., SSA, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR).
- Strong listening skills to understand team and client needs.
- Effective teamwork skills for both small and large project management.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Civil3D is a plus.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to support interoffice project execution and virtual team collaboration.
