Job Summary:
Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking DevOps Coach. Join our team and help our clients utilize modern, open-source technologies to develop, deliver and support applications while leveraging concepts of Lean, Agile, Kanban and SAFe. Our client is looking to modernize and expand their DevOps practices. In this role you will be responsible for working with clients to evaluate their current DevOps culture, processes, and tools to make recommendations for improvements, lead the execution of identified improvements, and be a hands-on engineer as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The DevOps Coach will provide development and operations (DevOps) coaching services to support our government clients. Duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Analyze current technology utilized within the organization and provide recommendations on improvements.
- Assist developers and engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions.
- Work closely with development and engineering professionals within the agency to maintain infrastructure and software required for products to be continually delivered effectively.
- Mentor and train other developers and engineers throughout the agency and seek to continually improve processes
- Develop and enhance DevOps operations in multiple cloud service environments
- Perform in the entire software development life cycle of the DevOps tool chain
- Collaborate on idea creation and development of the DevOps tool chain
- Support the ongoing lifecycle maintenance of the DevOps tool chain
- Support the software quality efforts associated with product deliveries
- Helping coach agency DevOps Engineers in:
- Installation and management of open-source monitoring tools
- Configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt)
- Architecture for continuous integration and deployment, and continuous monitoring
- Containerization technologies (e.g., LXC, Docker, Rocket)
- Implement and maintain continuous integration, testing, and delivery using DevOps tools and methods
- Implement and maintain system integration testing and deployment using DevOps tools and methods
- Using scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems
- Implement upgrades to the software factory as needed
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of software engineering and DevOps experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of management or coaching experience
- Must have experience in designing and implementing end to end continuous delivery pipelines
- Must have AWS cloud experience in a production environment (e.g. network, security, deployment, automation, serverless technologies)
- Must have strong experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with Continuous integration tools: Jenkins or Azure DevOps
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering.
Required Certifications:
- Agile Certification Required
- SAFe Certification Preferred
- Technical Development certifications Preferred
Other:
- Must be authorized to work in the US
