Job Overview:
Manages and oversees safety operations for organization. Maintains safe operations by surveying environmental, operational and occupational conditions. Responsible for investigating safety violations and recommending and implementing preventative safety programs. Develops safety systems, procedures and training for employees and leaders. Responsible for all Workers Compensation events, including all documentation and appropriate follow-up. Is first point of contact with OSHA and maintains ongoing OSHA 300 logs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts safety inspections of production and administrative work areas. Record observations and address any noted safety hazards.
- Care for team members injured on the job. Contacts necessary medical personnel as required.
- Develops safety preparedness training programs that address organizational needs. Train team members on safety requirements.
- Investigates OSHA complaints and coordinates with legal counsel on appropriate response.
- Follows up on recommendations to ensure compliance. Main point of contact with OSHA.
- Responsible for data record keeping for all OSHA regulations (300A log, FROI, etc.)
- Improves Safety knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications regarding occupational health topics and trends.
- Trains team members to be First Responders. Track applicable credentials.
- Understands ETE core values and leads by example.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or similar field preferred. Certificate in Occupation Health and Safety a plus
- 5+ years progressive experience as a Safety Coordinator/Officer, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Training in first aid. First Responder background desired
- Experience working with government and regulatory agencies
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
- Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, and decision-making skills
- Self-starting and motivated; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others
- Strong communication skills with great attention to detail
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office

The position is a critical safety role at a manufacturing facility. If you enjoy working closely with operators on the floor and contributing to continuous improvements in safety, this may be the right environment for you. Expect a bit of noise, some oil, and automotive remanufacturing processes aimed at delighting our customers. PPE, including eye protection, steel-toe footwear, and hearing protection, is required in manufacturing spaces.
