Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Project Manager to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Somerset, NJ on a hybrid basis. The team focuses on the development of Remote Access Solutions for data centers, broadcast companies, semi-conductor fabs, government agencies, as well as many high-tech companies. As a project manager you will be working with the Engineering team as well as cross functional teams.
The environment is fast paced as we satisfy our customers’ needs and develop new products.
What Will You Do?
Working mainly with the Engineering Team, Product Management Team, and other Project Managers:
- Create Project schedules.
- Track execution to the schedule.
- Define Project Metrics for reporting purposes.
- Work with other Project Managers (i.e. – manufacturing) to coordinate schedules.
- Organize kick-off project meetings.
- Resource Planning exercises.
- Lead the requirement gathering process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Education:
- BS degree or higher in a technical field (engineering, computer science).
- PMP certification preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 plus years in the role of Project Manager for technology-based product(s).
- Additional years in a technical position preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Requires strong organizational and time management skills, pays close attention to detail and can effectively handle multiple priorities.
- Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control several ongoing projects at a time.
- Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment in a global environment with geographically distributed teams.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Understand how to project manage the lifecycle for custom hardware and software products.
- Willingness to learn how these products work from a customer perspective.
- Should have a working knowledge of technologies used in IP based products.
- Knowledge of project management methodology especially in Agile development.
