OVERVIEW: IT PMO DIRECTOR
The Director of IT PMO will lead and manage the IT Project Management Office, ensuring the successful delivery of high-priority projects that align with organizational goals. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of technology business processes, and people. The ability to coach and develop a high-performing team while instilling a culture of excellence is required. This role reports directly to the SVP of IT.
RESPONSIBILITIES: IT PMO DIRECTOR
- Build, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of project managers, business analysts, and solution specialists to accelerate project delivery and align initiatives with business objectives.
- Facilitate, oversee, and enhance the execution of high-priority projects within the IT department, ensuring they meet organizational standards and goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into detailed project specifications.
- Foster a process-driven and transparent culture within the IT department, promoting accountability and clarity in project execution.
- Partner with the Senior Vice President of IT to develop and refine the organizational technological roadmap, including project estimates and timelines.
- Lead the implementation and success of high-priority projects across the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Identify and produce efficient solutions for system integration, maintenance, migration, and architecture to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, maintain comprehensive documentation, and support strategic DevOps practices.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements in development, design, and system architecture to leverage innovative business solutions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: IT PMO DIRECTOR
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects and managing diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team of project managers, business analysts, and solution specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align IT initiatives with organizational goals and drive transformative change.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IT project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.), the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and emerging technologies that impact business processes.
- Proven experience in developing and managing project budgets, resource allocation, and financial tracking, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, ITIL) is preferred. Work experience will be considered in place of specific education requirements.
- Understanding of change management principles and experience in guiding organizations through transitions, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and engagement.
