Our manufacturing end user client is looking for an experienced Master Data Manager lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance and master data management (MDM) strategy across the enterprise. This is a great opportunity to join this organization at the very beginning of a major digital transformation program.
The role will involve regular time on-site in Minnesota, so candidates need to be based in Minnesota, North Dakota, or within a 2-hour flight of Minneapolis.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role, with a focus on Master Data Management (MDM) strategy and implementation. Experience in developing an MDM and governance strategy during an ERP implementation a strong plus; specifically, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and SCM, WMS, MES modules.
- Highly proficient in data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Boomi, Snowflake) and data governance tools (Azure Purview, Fast Path Assure, Profisee).
- Strong understanding of data management principles, policies and standards, as well as data quality management, data stewardship, and data governance frameworks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement MDM Strategy: Lead the creation and execution of an enterprise-wide Master Data Management strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and data governance policies.
- Data Governance Framework: Establish and enforce a robust data governance framework, including data standards, data quality rules, and data stewardship roles, to support MDM initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders across business units, IT, and data teams to identify and prioritize data domains for MDM implementation.
- Data Quality Management: Define and implement data quality metrics, controls, and monitoring processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of master data.
- MDM Tool Implementation: Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of MDM tools and technologies, working closely with IT and data architecture teams.
- Data Stewardship: Establish and manage a network of data stewards responsible for data quality and governance within their respective domains.
- Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to promote data governance and MDM best practices, driving cultural change and user adoption across the organization.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that data management practices comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track MDM effectiveness, data quality improvements, and data governance compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor the performance of MDM processes and tools, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
