The annual base salary range for this position in California is $120,000 to $150,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Investment Operations Manager reports directly to the CIO and manages the day-to-day operations of the investment department for an ultra-high net worth family. Responsibilities include debt compliance management, transaction processing, financial modeling, investment analysis, and finance related administrative functions. This individual is the liaison between internal and external stakeholders including investment managers, financial institutions, legal/compliance, tax, and accounting teams, to manage the daily operations of the department. This position supports the CIO and VP Investments & Finance and is a key part of the investment team for the family office. High-touch client service mentality and strong analytical skills are key.
Responsibilities
- Provide various forms of financial analysis, process investment activity, update investment values, run performance reports, and analyze accuracy of reporting
- Monitor investment activity by reviewing quarterly reports and participating in investor calls
- Monitor and maintain compliance with loans and other legal agreements
- Prepare wire transfers and supporting documentation for funding estate entities
- Record and reconcile cash flow activity for various accounts and entities and manage cash balances
- Assist with the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and financial reports for quarterly meetings and other ad hoc requests
- Create and maintain financial models in Excel
- Administrative correspondence with banks, investment funds, and service providers and completion of related banking and investment forms
- Provide accounting and tax departments with reports related to investment activity, including 1099s, K-1s, and monthly activity
- Maintain electronic filing system and contact data management system
Skills
- 5 years of experience in a finance, client service or investment-related role
- Bachelor’s degree from an undergraduate institution with a record of academic achievement
- Strong analytical quantitative and qualitative reasoning ability with attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Team-oriented with excellent people skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience
- A proven record of handling sensitive and confidential information
