Our end user client are seeking a Data Consultant to play a critical role in the successful implementation of our new ERP solution. The role will be primarily focused on data cleansing and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
The role will typically involve 3 days per week on-site in Cincinnati, so candidates need to be based within a commutable distance.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in data cleansing and ETL processes, preferably within an ERP implementation project.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL and other relevant data manipulation languages.
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
- Knowledge of data quality assessment and improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Familiarity with data governance and data security best practices.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl).
Main Responsibilities:
Data Extraction:
- Identify and extract relevant data from existing systems, including legacy databases, spreadsheets, and other sources.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy during the extraction process.
Data Transformation:
- Cleanse and standardize data to align with the requirements of the new ERP system.
- Resolve data inconsistencies, duplicates, and missing values.
- Transform data into the appropriate format for loading into the ERP system.
Data Loading:
- Load cleansed and transformed data into the new ERP system.
- Validate data integrity and accuracy after loading.
Data Quality Assessment:
- Conduct regular data quality checks to identify and address any issues.
- Develop and implement data quality improvement strategies.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of ETL processes, including data mapping, transformation rules, and validation procedures.
