Ultimate Staffing is looking for a Inventory Control / Logistics Manager to support a growing technology company located in beautiful Scotts Valley, only minutes from Santa Cruz and just over the hill from Silicon Valley. This is a onsite role with a target pay of $40-$45/hour.
Job Summary:
Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing both the inventory control processes and the warehouse operations within the organization. The inventory levels are optimized and accurate, while also ensuring that the warehouse operates efficiently and safely. The position involves coordinating with multiple departments, optimizing supply chain operations, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Control:
- Develop and implement strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels, balancing supply with production and sales demand.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, trends, and turnover rates to make informed decisions.
- Manage and track raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Implement and monitor KPIs to assess and improve inventory accuracy.
- Optimize and manage inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, MRP) to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, usage, and forecasts, providing insights to management.
Warehouse Management:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
- Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space, optimizing layout and organization.
- Manage and maintain warehouse equipment and technology to support efficient operations.
- Lead, train, and develop warehouse and inventory control staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Schedule and assign tasks to warehouse personnel, ensuring optimal workforce allocation.
- Enforce safety standards and regulations within the warehouse, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards, especially related to hazardous materials handling and storage.
- Coordinate with logistics providers to manage inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery of materials and products.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to align warehouse activities with overall supply chain goals.
- Identify and implement process improvements in both inventory control and warehouse operations to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in inventory management and warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with inventory management and warehouse management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Certifications: APICS CPIM, CSCP, WMS, or similar certification preferred.
- Other Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
