LHH is working with an incredible non profit in Ventura County to find a Marketing and Communications Specialist. You will not only be responsible for assisting in website management and social media marketing, but also the coordination of fundraising events and database management. You will work cross functionally with the Director of Business Development as well as the agency working on press releases and other project management tasks. You will have a fully onsiterole at the organization's Ventura, CA office. The team is growing as the goals grow, so this is a new role put in place in order for the brand awareness to grow, so it is important you are comfortable and experienced in working with all digital marketing and assisting in fundraising project management. This role offers robust benefits and a salary of $55,000-$60,000 depending on relevant experience.
You will:
- Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote the organization's mission, vision, and involvement in housing production and advocacy.
- Support fundraising efforts and advocacy through storytelling and various media channels, including social media, email, website, print materials, and video campaigns.
- Prepare, coordinate, and distribute donation campaigns and marketing communication pieces, such as annual reports, appeal letters, and donor impact updates.
- Administer donor databases (Bloomerang, Fundraise Up) to capture donor contact information, track gifts and engagement, generate reports, and maintain database records.
- Oversee property tours, groundbreaking events, and fundraising events.
- Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication and fundraising efforts in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Conduct market research, analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for growth, advocacy, and engagement.
- Manage and maintain the organization's website and social media accounts, ensuring content is current and engaging while monitoring and responding to comments and inquiries.
- Plan and execute awareness-raising events and campaigns to promote the organization's services and initiatives.
- Monitor and track marketing and communication efforts, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain relationships with media outlets, coordinating press releases and media coverage.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in affordable housing development, advocacy, public policy, and regulatory activities.
- Support other marketing and communication initiatives as needed.
Your experience should include:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management experience and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WordPress, and CRM software (for donors or clients).
- Knowledge in web page development and graphic design is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience.
