Imaging Engineer
The Imaging Engineer will be responsible for all X-ray imaging systems and equipment.
This includes implementation, configuration, workflow management, troubleshooting
and maintenance of all imaging systems. The Imaging Engineer will also be a systems
thinker, understand the interdependencies of the applications/systems they support,
work closely with modality vendors understand performance improvement and project
management methodologies, and model those skills for the entire organization.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software
Engineering, Systems or Application Engineering, or Imaging Science
• At least three (3) years' experience in image processing and applications.
• Familiarity working with at least two of the following: image quality, image
physics, image sensors, cameras, frame-grabbers, computer interfaces or
imaging related hardware
• Familiarity with x-ray systems such as Food Inspection, Security, Industrial, or
Medical.
• Prior usage of MATLAB, C/C++, C# or Visual Basic
• Understand X-ray generation and the influence on imaging quality.
• Must be up to date with all technological advancements in x-ray imaging.
• X-ray imaging system experience
• Imaging processing experience
• Proficiency in the English language with established written and verbal
communication skills
• Prior experience of at least five years’ experience with various imaging
equipment manufacturers or other appropriate related experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge with 5s methodology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform and document X-ray imaging studies with a variety of parts and
components.
• Ensure settings to recreate quality imaging on various equipment types are
documented.
• Troubleshoot imaging related problems for equipment.
• Manage replacement of components of various imaging devices and own the
overall health of imaging quality and device management.
• Evaluate vendors for opportunities to upgrade or enhance components in order
to create improved images.
• Participate in imaging related activities for system testing.
• Work closely with sales team, operations, and upper management.
• Interact with various vendors to maintain service and uptime of systems.
• Develop and maintain best practices and quality processes for entire imaging
function.
• Travel to other sites worldwide to perform application studies, training,
inspections, or demonstrations and/or to participate in system installation,
repairs, or troubleshooting: approx. 50% travel.
• Monitor emerging imaging technology developments and determine applicability.
• Conduct experimental investigations with new imaging components and
technologies.
