JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight global is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent for one of our large Chemical Manufacturing clients. This person would ensure the efficient utilization of maintenance, engineering, and utility department’s resources to continually improve equipment reliability and optimize unit operating costs for the Vernon, TX site. This person would be in charge of managing the maintenance supervisor and the scheduling/planning supervisor and both of their departments. They will also be in charge of capital budgeting for these teams, which is around $100,000 a month. Additional Roles/Responsibilities are listed below:
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Maintain plant facilities for the manufacture of product.
-Manage maintenance and any related project costs to the overall benefit of the company.
-Provide the leadership to move from a reactionary repair mode to one that performs work in an orderly and proactive manner.
-Develops and continually improve maintenance management systems.
-Develops, adjusts, and maintains personnel development programs for all support staff to meet or exceed the objectives of both the operating plant and individual person.
-Develops and maintains storeroom programs that ensure inventory and personnel optimization.
-Lead the Vernon capital program to prioritize capital projects for the Vernon site following corporate capex, capital excellence, and best practice guidelines.
-Enforce all site and corporate safety rules and procedures within the plant. Lead by example.
-Assure appropriate HSE training is provided to all subordinates.
-Set goals for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly priorities: 1) safety, 2) maintenance/ schedule compliance, 3) equipment reliability program.
-Assure all safety inspections and audits are performed and documented.
-Assure mechanical integrity program is maintained and adhered to.
-Conduct periodic inspections to assure compliance to existing safety rules and procedures and to assess the effectiveness and need for other risk reduction activities within the departments.
-Assure all subordinate contractors understand and adhere to plant safety rules and procedures.
-Support Process Safety Management including Management of Change and ensure incident investigations are conducted in area of responsibility and that action items are completed in a timely manner.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-Relevant field experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. High school diploma required.
-3 years working in an industrial facility, preferably in a chemical plant.
-2+ years' experience in a supervisor, lead, or managerial role
-Capital Project Experience is an added bonus or benefit or managing budget management
-Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage, motivate and develop personnel and to facilitate cooperation between affected departments.
-This position requires good computer skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
