Job Title: Vice President of Acquisitions – Multifamily Investments (Sunbelt Region)

A multi-billion dollar AUM real estate investment firm with a strong track record of multifamily investments, is seeking a Vice President of Acquisitions to lead and expand their multifamily portfolio across the Sunbelt Region. Position Overview:
The Vice President of Acquisitions will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and executing multifamily investment opportunities across the Sunbelt Region. This individual will leverage their deep knowledge of local markets, industry relationships, and analytical skills to drive acquisition strategies that align with the firm’s investment objectives. Reporting to the Head of Acquisitions, this role will be critical in scaling the multifamily platform within targeted high-growth markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Sourcing & Origination: Identify and evaluate multifamily investment opportunities across key markets in the Sunbelt Region, with a focus on high-growth areas and value-add opportunities.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, assess demand drivers, and determine investment viability across regional submarkets.
- Financial Analysis & Underwriting: Lead the underwriting process, including creating detailed financial models, sensitivity analyses, and pro forma projections to evaluate asset-level performance and potential returns.
- Due Diligence & Transaction Management: Oversee all aspects of the due diligence process, including property inspections, market research, lease audits, and coordination with third-party vendors.
- Investment Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement acquisition strategies that align with the firm’s portfolio objectives, capital deployment targets, and risk-return requirements.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with brokers, property owners, institutional partners, and other key stakeholders to source deal flow and enhance market knowledge.
- Team Leadership & Development: Collaborate with junior team members to enhance the overall effectiveness of the acquisition team and provide mentorship and training where needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years of multifamily acquisitions experience within institutional real estate investment, with a strong track record in the Sunbelt Region.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills with proficiency in real estate valuation software and Excel.
- Deep understanding of multifamily real estate, including market dynamics, capital markets, and property operations.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships across the industry.
- Ability to work autonomously and drive projects from sourcing through closing.
