Overview
Viskase Osceola's Plant Engineering Leader is a working manager role and leads facility and plant engineering, utilities, water, and wastewater operations at Viskase Osceola, AR facility. This person is responsible for the safe and effective design and execution of facility projects and for the safe and efficient performance of the maintenance department as well as managing the facility capital budget. This role will be responsible for the design, execution, and results of the plant's maintenance programs in the future. The position may also be assigned responsibility for some safety programs, such as Lock out Tag out, Electrical Safety, Contractor Safety, and Fall protection among others and will manage up to 25 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead Capital Project design reviews
- Manage plant capital projects and expense budgets.
- Plan, forecast, and manage plant capital budget.
- Manage the plants energy consumption and lead energy improvement program
- Manage the operation of the plant’s environmental controls such as Sulfur MACT units and Wastewater treatment.
- Manage facility support operations including the powerhouse and electrical distribution.
- Maintain the building and grounds.
- Provide 24/7/365 engineer support to the production departments.
- Hire, train and develop a strong engineering and utilities team with a robust mix of skills.
- Use metrics to drive maintenance process improvement.
- Lead with a zero injury mindset.
Education and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline with practical experience commensurate with the position.
- 7-10 years in a plant leadership role.
- Experience managing a team of at least 10+
- Experience with large complex manufacturing facilities that operate a 24/7/365 operation.
- Experience in a chemical plant preferred
- Strong understanding of energy conservation and efficiency improvement
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems and processes.
- Strong understanding and experience in managing a large, complex budget and driving productivity improvement
