Role: BMET II or III, Weekend Night support
Contract duration: 6 months
Location: Houston, TX (medical center)
Schedule: Weekends, Nights (Saturday & Sunday), 7p-7a
The 3rd shift BMET Level 2/3 will be responsible for responding to service calls, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting other hospital staff with troubleshooting and inspecting a wide range of biomedical equipment. This role will require flexibility to work across different buildings within the hospital's campus.
Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance and Inspections: Equipment inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of biomedical equipment including infusion pumps & monitors (most common).
- Technical Support: Assist with preventative maintenance inspections (PMs) and collaborate with other hospital departments for equipment checks.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Identify and address equipment issues on-site, ensuring devices meet operational standards. Perform room sweeps and manage equipment after each service call.
- Service Calls: Respond to service calls in a timely manner and resolve issues identified or escalate to appropriate personnel.
- Documentation and Reporting: Use the Nuvolo system to document all maintenance, repairs, and service calls accurately.
Requirements:
- Education: Minimum Associate’s degree in Biomedical Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a biomedical equipment technician role. Prior experience in a large hospital environment is preferred.
- Key Skills:
- Familiarity with Nuvolo system or similar CMMS tools
- Basic understanding of hospital equipment, especially infusion pumps (Alaris) & patient monitors (GE).
- Willingness to engage in diagnostics if needed and handle varied shifts
