Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Estate Administration Attorney at Pierro, Connor & Strauss, LLC in Albany, NY. The Estate Administration Attorney will be responsible for managing the administration of estates, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of probate procedures, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Responsibilities
· Manage the entire estate administration process from inception to closure.
· Prepare and file probate documents, petitions, and related court forms.
· Coordinate communication with courts, clients, beneficiaries, and other relevant parties.
· Conduct legal research on probate laws, regulations, and case precedents.
· Analyze complex legal issues related to estate administration and provide strategic recommendations.
· Review legal documents, including wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments.
· Prepare correspondence, affidavits, and other legal documents as needed.
· Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on the status of estate administration.
· Address client inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
· Oversee the management of estate assets, including financial accounts, real estate, and personal property.
· Work closely with financial institutions, appraisers, and other professionals involved in the estate settlement process.
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws governing estate administration.
· Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to streamline workflow and ensure efficient case management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in estate administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a license to practice law in New York State
