Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced R&D Packaging Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of primary and secondary packaging, driving innovation, renovation, sustainability, and cost-saving initiatives. This role involves managing multiple packaging development projects, working collaboratively across Brand, Planning, Formulation, Procurement, Quality, and external suppliers. You will also interface with the Supply Chain for production scale-ups, including line trials and improving line efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop primary and secondary packaging components to meet consumer, brand, customer, and manufacturing objectives.
- Manage packaging development projects while adhering to project timelines and maintaining high standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful packaging solutions for new product innovations and sustainability initiatives.
- Oversee manufacturing scale-ups, production start-ups, and line trials for new packaging formats.
- Drive cost-saving and process improvement initiatives for packaging solutions.
- Maintain digital systems for documentation, specifications, and artwork approvals, ensuring compliance and quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Science or Engineering (or equivalent).
- 2-4 years of experience in packaging development, preferably in personal care.
- Strong knowledge of rigid packaging (containers, closures, pumps) and flexible packaging (film technology).
- Understanding of the full packaging development process and packaging engineering principles.
- Proficient in project management, ensuring timely delivery of multiple packaging projects.
- Experience with digital systems like SharePoint and artwork approval tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
