Our client is a financial group. They seek a VP, Senior Financial Reporting Specialist to join their Jersey City, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Review daily reports, including Trading P&L, Firm Inventory, and GL to subledger reconciliations
- Assist the team with investigating reconciliation breaks as needed
- Assess quarterly Head Office reporting package and respond to requests/questions from the banks
- Analyze quarterly intercompany direct and indirect cost allocations and assist with invoicing
- Monitor daily cash reconciliations and work with Operations Group to clear the cash rec items
- Perform allocated month-end tasks, including calculating fee allocations and reviewing aged receivables/payables
- Manage and approve accounting entries posted to GL by junior staff as needed
- Gather and review accounting policy and procedures prepared by junior staff
- Submit requested workpapers to internal and external auditors
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting/financial reporting experience
- Broker/dealer financial industry background required
- Knowledge of securities broker-dealer business
- Experience with financial products and regulatory reporting
- CPA and Series 27 are strongly preferred
- Skilled in Oracle is a plus
