Position Summary
The Sr. Project Manager provides comprehensive administrative and technical expertise, ensuring safe project execution aligned with TEiC’s standards, and meeting cost, schedule, and contractual requirements. This role demands strong leadership to coordinate all project activities, both on-site and off-site, with an emphasis on high-return activities. The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for the overall project performance and financial success, proactively leading the team and coordinating with all TEiC support groups. The Sr. Project Manager will occasionally travel to the home office, job sites, or other corporate offices to support estimates, project development efforts, or other strategic initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:
Project Leadership and Execution:
- Deliver expected results in financial performance, safety, quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction for assigned projects.
- Ensure that project execution is in full compliance with TEiC policies, procedures, systems, and project-specific requirements.
Contract Management and Compliance:
- Monitor and control all contractual commitments to ensure work is performed according to specifications, drawings, and contract terms.
- Oversee trend programs and change order timelines to manage project scope effectively.
Procurement and Subcontract Management:
- Demonstrate expertise in managing complex procurements and subcontracts, ensuring alignment with project goals and contractual obligations.
Team Management and Coordination:
- Lead, manage, and coordinate activities of all project staff, either directly or through others on the project team.
- Assist in organizing and staffing key site leadership positions and develop field labor strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Serve as the TEiC senior prime point of contact with the client for all day-to-day project issues.
- Ensure that all client communications related to the prime contract are documented and comply with contract terms.
- Conduct periodic project and client meetings to facilitate communication, review progress, address issues, and resolve problems.
Change Management and Negotiation:
- Implement change management plans and negotiate changes with the client.
- Enforce contractual responsibilities and resolve disputes to maintain project momentum and client satisfaction.
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Ensure that project controls are in place to manage and report budgets, costs, and forecasts. Guarantee that the monthly forecast is accurate, timely, and representative of the project’s status.
Safety and Ethical Conduct:
- Abide by TEiC’s code of conduct and business ethics.
- Ensure that all project activities are conducted safely and in accordance with TEiC’s safety standards.
Project Turnover and Client Acceptance:
- Ensure that processes and procedures are in place to document all turnover activities and obtain the customer’s final acceptance of the work.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
Industry Experience:
- Extensive experience in Oil, Gas, Chemical, and/or Power Generation construction is required. Experience in Pulp & Paper, Chemical, or Pharmaceutical construction is an asset.
- Project experience should include managing projects ranging from $5M to $100M, with significant subcontractor involvement.
- 15 years of project management experience in industrial construction, with a continued commitment to personal growth and continuing education to develop project management, commercial, and legal skills.
