About The Opportunity:
A boutique law firm is seeking a dedicated paralegal to support its team in assisting medical providers with reimbursement disputes against insurance carriers. This position plays a crucial role in advocating for patients' rights under the No Surprises Act, helping to prevent unexpected medical bills for emergency and non-emergency services from out-of-network providers.
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Managing Paralegal who oversees the Arbitration team, this role provides essential support for patient advocacy efforts. No legal, medical billing, or coding experience is required—this is an assistant-level role designed to offer critical administrative and organizational support to the team.
Responsibilities:
- Payment Tracking: Accurately record and monitor medical claim payments.
- Coordination and Communication: Engage professionally with insurance companies and medical providers, ensuring prompt follow-ups.
- Email Management: Efficiently handle high-volume email correspondence to maintain organized case records.
- Document Support: Assist attorneys in preparing and organizing legal documents related to arbitration and patient advocacy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with medical billing or HCFA is a plus but not mandatory; the role does not involve collections and focuses on patient support.
