Overview
Our client, a leader in the K-12 Digital Learning space is seeking a Director of Product Marketing - Humanities who will oversee marketing strategies and campaigns for our client's full range of humanities products, including ELA, social studies, and specific K-5 offerings. This leadership role requires expertise in guiding high-impact go-to-market campaigns, managing RFP processes, and executing strategies for large state adoptions, with particular emphasis on California, Texas, and Florida. The successful candidate will be a data-driven strategist capable of developing and executing innovative marketing campaigns, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to drive product awareness and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead comprehensive marketing strategies for our client's humanities product lines, with a primary focus on ELA and social studies.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive product adoption, working alongside product, sales, and field representatives/teams.
- Drive large-scale marketing campaigns and adoption processes in key states, including management of RFP responses and alignment with sales initiatives.
- Collaborate with sales teams on "caravan-style" site-to-site visits and go-to-market campaigns in adoption states.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to two direct reports within the product marketing team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and competitor strategies, positioning our client as a thought leader in humanities education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in product marketing within the educational publishing or ed-tech sectors, with significant experience in ELA or humanities.
- Proven experience managing large state adoptions and RFP processes, with expertise in major adoption markets (CA, TX, FL).
- Strong data analysis and spreadsheet management skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Familiarity with product portfolios, including ELA and K-5 materials, as well as leading educational publishers.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience managing and developing marketing teams preferred.
Experience:
- Background in educational publishing is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of the humanities educational landscape, including the nuances of K-5 ELA and social studies.
- Experience designing campaigns and marketing materials tailored to adoption states and large-scale adoptions.
