As the Rotating Equipment Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the operational excellence of our clients plant's rotating equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop innovative reliability strategies and optimize performance across a range of critical systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Reliability Initiatives: Design and implement failure mode-based reliability strategies for critical rotating equipment, maximizing system uptime and minimizing costs.
- Analyze & Innovate: Use equipment trends, historical data, and field insights to adjust programs and drive the most efficient production availability.
- Problem-Solve & Champion Solutions: Identify and advocate for solutions that maximize system availability, leveraging engineering theory to perform root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and enhance equipment performance.
- Develop Preventive Maintenance Programs: Craft and implement proactive maintenance routines and condition monitoring programs to keep machinery running smoothly.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with production, maintenance, and service teams to understand failure modes and effects, creating mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Provide Expert Project Support: Offer technical support for project development, including turnaround planning, QA/QC, installation, commissioning, and start-up for rotating equipment.
- Optimize Engineering Solutions: Use reliability-centered principles to address equipment deficiencies, ensuring the best-engineered solutions and selecting optimal new equipment.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Review Management of Change (MOC) requirements and adhere to Process Safety Management (PSM) protocols to maintain a safe environment.
- Oversee Mechanical Integrity (MI): Manage the Rotating Equipment MI program, establishing maintenance procedures and testing protocols to ensure asset integrity.
- Deliver Field Support: Provide hands-on technical support to address equipment issues, maintaining up-to-date records, procedures, and spare parts inventory.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Experience: 4+ years in machinery or rotating equipment engineering within petrochemical, refining, or utility operations.
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with compressors, turbines, pumps, motors, and other critical rotating equipment. Knowledge of machinery auxiliary systems like lube oil, hydraulics, monitoring, and protective systems.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in vibration analysis and data interpretation (CAT II certification is a plus).
