Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Balbec Capital LP is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and innovative IT Infrastructure Manager to join our team. The IT Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the daily management of the end-user support team, management of vendors, negotiating contracts, overseeing the data center infrastructure, and ensuring after-hours support to maintain uninterrupted operations. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This is a hybrid position working onsite in our Alpharetta, GA office Monday-Thursday with the option to work remote on Friday.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Helpdesk, including monitoring and resolving tickets, ensuring SLAs are met, and providing excellent customer service to end-users
- Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, reviewing vendor performance, and ensuring vendor compliance with contractual obligations
- Manage IT resource requirements to balance tactical and strategic demands appropriately
- Implement IT continuous improvement programs
- Ensure the infrastructure team is mitigating, monitoring, and managing infrastructure-related risks
- Work closely with project team members and line managers for time allocation and prioritization
- Monitor and maintain the data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, security, and cloud environments like AWS and Azure
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure IT projects are aligned with business objectives and priorities
- Develop and manage IT initiatives' project plans, timelines, and budgets, utilizing Agile and other project management methodologies
- Conduct regular status meetings and provide project updates to stakeholders
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
- Develop and implement change management processes and best practices.
- Ensure that project deliverables are of the highest quality and meet or exceed stakeholder expectations
- Communicate technical issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals, providing guidance and coaching on project management best practices
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure management, preferably in a medium-scale enterprise environment
- Experience managing IT Infrastructure, which includes helpdesk operations, vendor relationships, and data center infrastructure
- Strong project management skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering on time and within budget, utilizing Agile and other project management methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract negotiation
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build consensus
- Experience managing and mentoring technical staff
- Understanding of ITIL practices
- Ability to think logically and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
- Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions, documenting them, and presenting them to senior management
- Experience implementing packages and working with vendors
- AWS/Azure Certification preferred
