Job Title: Senior Control Systems Engineer
Location: Evansville, IN or Carmel, IN
Pay: up to $115,000
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of advanced motor control systems. You will leverage your expertise in control theory, electrical engineering, and system integration to drive innovation in our motor design projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Create and optimize control algorithms for motor systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate motor control systems with hardware and software components.
- Testing and Validation: Develop test plans and execute validation procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to motor control systems, providing technical support during the development process and after deployment.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation for design processes, test results, and system specifications to facilitate knowledge transfer and compliance.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to align control strategies with overall system goals.
- Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems design, specifically with motor control applications.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in control theory, PID control, and state-space methods.
- Experience with motor types (AC, DC, stepper, servo) and their control systems.
- Proficient in simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python).
- Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, Modbus, etc.) and embedded systems.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on system-level thinking.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the automotive, aerospace, or robotics industries.
- Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-178C) related to control systems.
- Previous experience in leading projects or teams.
