SkillBridge Summary:
Raytheon Technologies at the White Sands Missile Range is seeking a successful candidate to be responsible for supporting the Environmental, Health and Safety program for the Mission Capabilities Verification Center. The position reports directly to the White Sands Missile Range EHS Manager. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to be part of an Environmental, Health, & Safety team as an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer. The selected candidate must be a self-starter, be able to work independently, and be able to work in a flexible environment where one size does not always fit all.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant industrial hygiene, safety, human factors, and environmental experience with strength or background in safety. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to prioritize and provide timely support for a variety of internal customers and programs while balancing the need of Army host environmental and safety programs daily. Candidate should have strong communications and interpersonal skills to influence internal and external groups including engineers, military, and management.
The ideal SkillBridge Candidate will possess the following:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience within the Environmental, Safety, or Health fields with a minimum of an associate degree or equivalent in safety engineering/technology, safety and health, environmental science, occupational/industrial hygiene, or related field.
- Knowledge of safety and health standards, criteria and guidelines issued by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), American Conference of Governmental industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and other applicable regulators.
- Knowledge and ability to apply the general principals of ergonomics, human factors, safety, industrial hygiene and environmental compliance.
- Ability to accurately diagnose general and intermediate EHS issues related to Raytheon operations, determine appropriate or practical controls, and implement practical and effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Working knowledge of risk reduction and mitigation practices as well as hazard control hierarchy/strategies.
- Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-pace environment and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills.
- Be flexible to accept additional assignments, campaigns and rotations to other EHS programs including environmental and sustainability.
- Knowledge of OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), Behavioral Based Safety, and other programs that integrate personnel with the safety program at all levels of the team.
- Organizational, communication, and presentation skills that are developed and allow for concise, clear, and effective interaction with a variety of groups, teams and individuals.
- An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance

SkillBridge Eligibility overview:
To be eligible for this SkillBridge Fellowship you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be eligible to participate in Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29.
- Must be projected to receive an honorable discharge from the military.
- Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.
- Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.
- Must be located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to the job location.
