Associate Architect – Network Solutions
Contract-to-Hire
Hybrid
Philadelphia, PA
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Architect to join our growing team. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for individuals with foundational knowledge in networking technologies, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to contribute to the design of complex network solutions. You’ll work closely with senior architects and our engineering team to help create high-level network designs and solutions that meet client needs, with a focus on Wide Area Networking (WAN) and Local Area Networking (LAN).
As an Associate Architect, you’ll be expected to have basic knowledge of how LAN and WAN technologies function and the principles behind their design. You don’t need to be an expert in command-line systems, but you should be able to understand how network components fit together to form a cohesive solution. Your role will be pivotal in helping to develop and grow our sales engineering practice, which bridges the gap between technical design and business solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Design: Collaborate with senior architects to design scalable and secure network solutions for clients based on both LAN and WAN technologies.
- Knowledge Sharing: Assist in the training and development of junior associates by sharing design concepts and industry best practices.
- Client-Facing Support: Support the pre-sales process by working closely with sales teams to craft technical solutions that align with client requirements.
- Learning and Development: Continuously expand your technical knowledge, with a strong focus on network design principles and evolving technologies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with a team of architects, engineers, and sales professionals to define and refine network designs, ensuring that proposed solutions align with customer needs and business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or completion of a boot camp with a focus on networking and technology solutions.
- Technical Knowledge:
- LAN (Local Area Network): Basic understanding of LAN design, topology, and common technologies.
- WAN (Wide Area Network): Familiarity with WAN concepts and the integration of remote locations.
- Networking Technologies: A general understanding of how networking technologies (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, etc.) fit into a larger solution.
- Certifications (a plus but not required):
- CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or other relevant certifications in networking.
- Skillset:
- Strong understanding of how different network components work together in a design.
- Ability to think critically about network architecture and its impact on business operations.
- Familiarity with technology sales engineering or solution engineering, but NOT IT-specific roles (e.g., no server management or end-user IT support).
- A strong desire to learn and grow within a technical role, with an interest in developing a career in network architecture and solution engineering.
Desired Characteristics:
- Willingness to Learn: Enthusiastic about gaining deeper knowledge in network architecture and design, with an eagerness to stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Collaboration: Team player who enjoys working with others and can adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: A strong ability to think through complex technical challenges and devise practical, innovative solutions.
- Communication Skills: Clear communication and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
