Abtrex Alabama LLC. is seeking a Fiberglass Quality Control Inspector. The Quality Inspector is a full-time position working M-F 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.. Some overtime is expected. This position provides the opportunity to work in an exciting and diverse field. Primarily working with composite materials such as fiberglass for use in an industrial setting.
Position Responsibilities
- Reads and adheres to all standard operating procedures according to each project or assignment
- Approves incoming, in-process, and finished materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputting data into quality database
- Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Reports mechanical or material issues to direct supervisor immediately
- Transports finished goods to designated storage or shipping areas
- Maintains a clean and safe work area
- Regular and consistent attendance
- Performs all other related duties and assignments as requested
Position Qualifications
- Previous inspection experience or 10+ years of experience in FRP in a production environment and familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, measuring tape) is required.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
- Must have attention to detail
- Must have excellent training and presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written
- Ability to learn new concepts and effectively pass this knowledge on to others
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and embrace change openly
- Must have a positive and figure it out attitude.
- Must have fluent computer skills in Microsoft Office and related software packages.
- Must be able to work effectively as an individual contributor and possess solid interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Must use the assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: Safety Glasses, ear plugs, and safety gloves
