Electrical Project Manager (Field Service + Power Distribution)
Location: Albany, NY - with up to 25% travel
Pay: $100,000-150,000K Base Salary + 20% Bonus + Benefits
Responsibilities:
- Act as an Integration Engineer and Project Manager, bridging the gap between design engineers and mechanical/electrical subcontractors, and overseeing projects to completion.
- Review design drawings, submittals, and proposals, and participate in design reviews to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the installation of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Troubleshoot issues during construction and commissioning phases, providing technical expertise to resolve problems in the field.
- Lead and oversee electrical subcontractors, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Manage communication between various stakeholders, including design teams, subcontractors, and the client, to ensure the smooth delivery of projects.
- Support procurement efforts by participating in bidding processes, evaluating proposals from subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
Technical Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems, including experience with medium voltage (480V to 15,000V) electrical distribution.
- Strong understanding of switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with gas engines, gas turbines, and diesel generators is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical design drawings and communicate effectively with design engineers.
- Candidates with a Navy or field service background are highly desired.

Location, Format, Travel Requirements:
- The candidate will primarily work from the Albany, NY office but will also travel to various project sites across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
- The position is mostly office-based in Albany, with a mix of desk work (reviewing designs, managing submittals) and fieldwork (overseeing installations, resolving issues, managing projects).
- Hybrid work may be possible after the candidate has established themselves in the role, but the company strongly prefers in-office presence due to the collaborative nature of the work.
- Around 25% travel over the course of a two-year project, with travel increasing toward the final stages (installation and commissioning).
- Typical travel involves site visits to locations such as Summit, NJ, Washington, D.C., Worcester, MA, and Albany, NY. Some trips will be day visits, but others will require overnight stays. Expect up to 12+ overnight trips per two-year project, with potential for week-long stays during the commissioning phase.
