This role involves supporting attorneys with minimal supervision in various aspects of litigation. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to quickly learn and utilize different software and technology. The candidate should be capable of multitasking effectively under pressure. Responsibilities
- Filing documents to state and federal courts.
- Overseeing case dockets and tracking calendar deadlines.
- Organizing and maintaining case and client records.
- Helping with the preparation, scheduling, and logistics of depositions.
- Drafting litigation documents, such as motions, affidavits, and declarations.
- Creating discovery requests and responses and aiding in document collection and review.
- Collaborating with external consultants and experts.
- Communicating with clients and other attorneys both verbally and in writing.
- Supporting trial and arbitration preparations, including logistics and assistance.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of recent litigation experience.
- Experience with business and/or employment litigation.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- Familiar with electronic discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity).
- Excellent proofreading skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Eager to contribute as a key member of a developing litigation team.
- Proactive and capable of taking responsibility for work output.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree minimum or equivalent related work experience.
- ABA-approved Paralegal course of study or North Carolina State Paralegal Certification.
