Alstom is seeking a Composite Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of mechanical components in transportation systems. This unionized role offers a competitive pay rate of $28.68/hour.
Responsibilities
Review project requests, safety instructions, blueprints, and schematics to determine specifications.
Dismantle, assemble, and replace components in HVAC, brake, and propulsion systems.
Analyze subsystems and make modifications as needed.
Record activities and relevant information on report cards or data sheets.
Conduct quality tests to ensure safe performance.
May require training as a class four train operator for moving rail equipment.
Perform additional assigned tasks.
Qualifications
Experience: Manual and schematic knowledge; mechanical and electrical aptitude. Preferred: 1 year in rail maintenance; construction or warehouse experience is a plus.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Diesel/Mechanical Vocational Certificate required if no relevant experience.
