Position Description
The CADD Detailer coordinates with the conceptual designers, project managers, and our shops to produce construction documents.
Primary Objectives
To produce construction drawings for both in-house and subcontracted pieces that need to be fabricated. Coordinate with both in-house team members and vendors to make sure the fabricated products both meet SRS quality, and durability and are sized to meet installation specifications.
Areas of Responsibility and Specific Responsibilities
- Produce justified building drawings based on as built dimensions of the exhibit space.
- Generate and maintain CAD sheet schedule to be used throughout the project.
- Email CAD questions to the project manager the day before the normally scheduled job meeting.
- Produce construction drawings per design taking into account:
- Install ability
- Design intent
- Installation hardware
- Integration between wood shop and art shop.
- Example: shop-built platform, art fabrication pieces on it.
- Provide separate acrylic and metal drawings to get sent out for fabrication.
- At the end of the job, produce as-built drawings based on shop red line drawings.
- CAD produces CNC and other specialty subs drawings.
Ideal candidate
- CADD experience in permanent exhibits, retail, architectural millwork, theatre, or tradeshow.
- Experience in fabrication with the above-listed fields.
This is a salaried position and based on experience.
