Purpose and Description:
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and reports to provide management with timely, accurate, and meaningful information for the purpose of directing the activities of the company, decision making, and strategic planning.
- Perform daily, monthly, and annual general business accounting functions.
- To monitor accounting policies and practices, identifying areas where compliance is lacking or where improvements may be made to achieve greater accuracy or efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (US GAAP), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control for a publicly traded company.
Major Responsibilities:
- Month End: complete close process, general journal and ERP system entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and analysis.
- Cash Receipts: bank balance tracking, reconciliations, ERP system entries.
- Cost accounting: review variances, analyze trends, reconcile inventory balances, and assist with margin analysis.
- General Ledger account entry and upkeep.
- Ensure proper internal controls and compliance with SOX 404 initiatives.
- Supports the external audit of the Companys financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis.
Other Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable: review daily Invoicing batches, review and approve customer payment entries, contact customers regarding overdue invoices.
- Review and supervise accounts payable.
- Work together with financial and accounting managers to optimize financial operations.
- Sales and use tax monitoring and payment.
- Fund transfers.
- Maintains accounting filing system- preferably in electronic form.
- Perform other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Physical Requirements and Environment:
- This position is located on-site 5 days/week
- Frequent to constant sitting, occasional walking, and may require infrequent lifting up to 25 lbs.

Education/Experience/Skills/Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business (or equivalent years of directly relevant experience) required.
- 5+ years' experience in accounting role in a manufacturing environment required.
- Preferred- Experience working with a public company.
- Shows strong leadership skills and must have the ability to train and manage a growing accounting team.
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in MS Office products required, Zoom Workplace experience preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems required preferred.
- Experience integrating with HRIS system required, Paycom experience preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented, accurate and organized.
- Must be a self-starter and adaptable to change.
- Must demonstrate integrity, accountability, and the ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality.
- Must demonstrate the ability to balance multiple concurrent projects and priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
