About the Role
As the Vice President of Finance, you will be a key member of the executive team, overseeing all financial operations and providing strategic guidance to the company.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Planning & Leadership:
- Partner with the President to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s growth and profitability goals.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial analysis and insights for strategic decision-making.
- Establish financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial management.
- Financial Operations & Management:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure to optimize the company's financial health.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and present financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses, to the executive team.
- Prepare board-level presentations on past financial performance, execution on key initiatives, and future financial expectations.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights to the President and other senior leaders.
- Utilize financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Executive Collaboration & Advisory:
- Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the President and executive team, providing insights on market trends, business risks, and potential opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations, and sales, to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax filings, audits, and financial reporting standards.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions to support the company's financial initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CMA certification preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, in the construction services sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, reporting, and cost accounting principles.
- Proven strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive financial performance.
