Position: Laboratory Manager
Location: Greater Charlotte, NC Area
Our clientis seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Laboratory Manager to oversee and optimize our laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in laboratory techniques, a keen eye for process improvement, and exceptional leadership skills. Responsibilities: Laboratory Operations:
- Manage and optimize daily laboratory operations, including resource allocation, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures and documentation aligned with industry standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Team Leadership:
- Oversee and mentor a team of laboratory technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Recruit, hire, and develop laboratory personnel.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor performance.
Research and Development:
- Collaborate with R&D teams to support new product development initiatives.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential solutions.
- Contribute to the development and execution of research projects.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple laboratory projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Quality Control:
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures.
- Oversee quality control testing and analysis.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Assist with the Global TDS project (2024).
- Become familiar with regulations applicable to the plastics industry.
- Assist with entry-level regulatory tasks and questions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or industry related work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of quality control methodologies and statistical process control.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the Chemicals/Plastics industry.
- Knowledge of CGMP standards.
- Previous experience in analyzing data related to the plastics industry.
