SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Manage customer prototype and systems development projects from conception to delivery to ensure successful execution and ultimately customer satisfaction. The Applications Engineering Project Manager is responsible for developing project plans, leading project teams, scheduling resources, and successful execution of each project on time. The Applications Engineering Project Manager will actively monitor the status and risks during execution of projects and will assist in ensuring sufficient Applications Engineering resources are scheduled. The Applications Engineering Project Manager is a potential stepping stone for long term growth into the Applications Engineering Manager position.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage multiple complex Customer Development Projects and multi-disciplinary teams (Applications Engineering, Product Management, Purchasing, Marketing, Electrical, Mechanical, and Sales) to bring new customer applications to market in a fast-paced environment
- Provide effective team leadership and focus to meet project timeline goals while managing tactical activities
- Work closely with Sales and Applications Engineering to define customer requirements and project scope
- Coordinate the allocation and planning of Applications Engineering team resources to meet customer timelines
- Develop and maintain customer applications and resource plans with the cross-functional team that minimizes time-to-market requirements
- Facilitate and lead customer discussions regarding project status and timelines
- Execute the Application Project plan following a structured, gated process
Maintain a working knowledge of InMotion products and a perspective of industry practice
Follow and improve Application Engineering and Sales area processes; contribute to the enhancement of procedures to ensure high quality results on a repeatable basis
- Conduct frequently scheduled team meetings to drive the deliverables to the plan
- Communicate issues and project status reports on a timely basis to Senior Management

Project Management
Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
Excellent problem-solving skills and be able to think quickly and adeptly about how to address problems as they come up
High level of interpersonal skills – ability to work with internal and external customers at all levels
Proven ability to drive results with little-to-no supervision
Proven ability to work under pressure – managing multiple high priority projects – while remaining respectful and tactful
Strong communication abilities – verbal and written
General knowledge about the electric motor and vehicle industry preferred
Experience in industry of software development preferred
Experience with Sales processes, technical specifications, and compliance matrices is preferred
Process improvement and analytical skills preferred
Ability to make presentations
Ability to travel nationally and/or internationally on an occasional basis
Must be proficient with MS Office
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
3+ years applicable leadership experience and applicable BS or 8 years applicable leadership experience and applicable AAS
Strong preference given to degrees in Engineering or technical field.
3+ years of experience in product development
