Project Manager/Estimator - Transmission/Substation
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Estimator with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to join our team in Syracuse, NY. This role will be responsible for managing and estimating projects in the transmission and substation space, ensuring timely, budget-conscious delivery. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in project management and estimating in power transmission and substations, demonstrating a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of assigned transmission and substation projects, from initial proposal through completion.
- Develop detailed cost estimates, budgets, and schedules, ensuring all projects meet financial and time constraints.
- Lead project teams, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects effectively.
- Oversee procurement, budgeting, and resource allocation to meet project objectives.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, change orders, and project documents.
- Provide regular updates on project status, budget, and progress to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards and requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of project management and estimating experience in transmission and substation projects.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and project teams in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, including OSHA and other regulatory guidelines.
- Proficiency in project management and estimating software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
