Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: One year of experience required
License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
Must-Have:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Job Description:
- Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a variety of health problems, ranging from simple to complex.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document their responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
- Assist physicians during examinations and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing their physiological manifestations and intervening when necessary.
- Administer prescribed medication and manage intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care, interacting with patients and their families by sharing care plans during hospitalization and discharge.
- Inform patients and their families about hospital procedures and make appropriate referrals based on patient care needs.
- Delegate tasks to support staff and perform other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Some computer skills preferred.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board Approved Program.
