About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp [FEU].
The selected candidate may be based out of Akron OH, Greensburg or Reading PA, Fairmont WV, or Holmdel NJ.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will support the Distribution Engineering and Planning organization and be responsible for data mining, data interpretation and disseminating information to the leadership team for review and analysis. The Business Analyst works closely with stakeholders to identify goals, best practices, and other active methods for gathering and analyzing data as it relates to the needs of the organization.
In this role, the Business Analyst will provide statistical insights and report development/generation that help the decision-making process, align capital and resource allocation within the business budget, provide granular safety related performance data, and ad hoc business requests. The Business Analyst will drive fresh initiatives for safety, financial planning and business data utilization and identify business areas that can be improved for safety performance, increased efficiency, and strengthen business processes. The successful candidate will work closely with others throughout Distribution Engineering leadership team to communicate their findings and help implement changes to support organizational goals and strategy.
This position is responsible for supporting the team with data requests, presentation development, and support of various business initiatives such as DEI and Safety Steering Committees.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing a high level of service, continuous support and proactive involvement to leadership and peers.
- Conducting business-specific research and analyzing data, interpreting and compiling results in a concise and professional manner, and assisting in implementation activities when necessary.
- Developing charts, tables, presentations and other elements of data visualization
- Understanding business strategies, goals, and requirements
- Identifying and prioritizing the organization's functional and technical needs and requirements
- Creating models and reports to support business decisions
- Forecasting, budgeting, and performing both variance analysis and financial analysis
- Building respectful and effective working relationships with key stakeholders in multiple business units to work collaboratively on various requests and initiatives
- Timely responding to requests
- Providing storm support, as required, including off-hours, weekends and holidays
- Delivering quality and accurate work within established deadlines
- Contributing to solutions by taking the initiative in developing alternatives and recommendations.
- Actively seeking ways to build, challenge, and add value within scope of assignments.
- Exhibit an in-depth understanding of the products and services and of customer needs and expectations.
- Recommends and implements solutions to the more complex issues and assignments and develop process improvements and efficiencies to improve customer service.
- Possesses strong skills and knowledge and provides leadership on initiatives and projects.
Qualifications include:
- Two year degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred, along with a minimum of 4 years related work experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of direct, related experience will be considered.
