The Maintenance Machinist is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing various mechanical equipment and machinery within the shop. This includes performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and ensuring all equipment functions effectively and safely.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on shop equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
• Repairs: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a variety of vehicles and machinery.
• Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and malfunctions in mechanical systems.
• Safety: Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and company policies. Keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Equipment Testing: Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality before returning it to service.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, technicians, and shop team members to complete tasks efficiently.
• Tool Management: Properly maintain and store tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Operate a forklift and manlift.
• Connect and disconnect a three-phase electric motor.
• Ability to perform LOTO.
