Mapping & Localization Engineer (Multi-Agent SLAM)
A leading provider of innovative robotics solutions is seeking a skilled Mapping & Localization Engineer to advance the development of cutting-edge autonomous vehicles. This role plays a pivotal part in designing and optimizing Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) systems to ensure precise navigation in challenging environments, including GPS-denied areas.
As a key member of our engineering team, you'll work on creating and fine-tuning SLAM algorithms, integrating sensor data, and supporting the real-time operation of robotic swarms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both single-agent and multi-agent robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust SLAM algorithms for accurate real-time localization and mapping of autonomous robotic systems.
- Integrate and optimize data from various sensors (LIDAR, cameras, IMUs) to enhance SLAM performance.
- Design real-time processing pipelines to maintain low-latency, high-accuracy systems.
- Build fault detection and recovery mechanisms to ensure reliability in diverse operational conditions.
- Optimize SLAM algorithms for computational efficiency, enabling effective use of embedded systems with limited resources.
- Collaborate in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment with a focus on delivering innovative solutions for defense applications.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in SLAM development, with a focus on real-time localization and mapping for autonomous systems.
- Proficient in sensor fusion, with a proven ability to integrate and optimize multi-sensor data for improved system accuracy.
- Hands-on experience with real-time processing and low-latency system design.
- Expertise in fault management and ensuring system reliability in high-stakes environments.
- Skilled in optimizing algorithms for embedded systems with resource constraints.

- U.S. security clearance eligibility and willingness to work onsite in the Phoenix, AZ area.
