Title: Plant Controller
Compensation: $170,000 - $200,000
Location: Hayward - onsite
You are a Plant Controller reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. The Hayward Controller must possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills. The Hayward Controller should aid the site in maintaining sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support the Hayward facility
What you will be doing:
- Drive all Site Management Reporting, Bank Reporting, and GAAP Compliance for the Hayward facility
- Own site TB and approve all transactions affecting period ending balances
- Own site compliance with State and Federal regulations, (Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, Business License, et al)
- Timely close and analyze monthly results compared to the prior year and budget, with the purpose of helping to drive EBITDA improvement
- Lead the site analysis & prepare financial results to share with local teams (internal customers)
- Able to provide support and communicate clearly any financial anomalies noted in the business
- Lead improvement in general accounting functions GL, and closing processes and provide oversite to the GSO team (AR/AP)
- Drive inventory & costing accounting and analysis for the Hayward facility with the assistance of the Cost Acctg Mgr.
- Develop a foundational accounting department & reporting infrastructure
- Streamline accounting functions and operations
- Manage and develop accounting staff
- Serve as the first contact in Finance to provide financial information to Corporate Office or to Company Stakeholders.
- Private equity environment and related reporting & management support
- Partner & collaborate with international partners on all audits of an international company, working w/ local accounting teams to complete divisional audits and consolidated audits
- Support external tax preparers to meet tax filing requirements, all while working with local teams
- Prepare budgets, strategic planning & financial projections
- Drive cash management, cash reporting & cash projections
- Develop and analyze Capital Spending ROI
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar field
- 10 years of relevant experience with 5 years in a managerial position
- Relevant experience in a Manufacturing environment and International experience are required
- Experienced in GAAP reporting, inventory & cost accounting is required
- Previous experience working with Epicor or similar ERP systems
- Experience in a private equity environment or big 4 accounting is a big plus!
- Ability to adapt and handle a changing work environment while completing essential job duties and functions
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant is advantageous
