Position: Chief Data Officer (CDO)
Position Overview:
As the Chief Data Officer (CDO) at our boutique technology consulting firm, you will be a pivotal leader responsible for driving data and AI-driven strategies across both new and existing client engagements, as well as our partnerships with leading technology providers, including Informatica and Microsoft. You will oversee all aspects of practice development and service delivery, working closely with onshore and offshore teams to ensure operational excellence and innovative solutions. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide thought leadership, driving both internal capabilities and client-facing transformations through cutting-edge AI, data, and analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Strategy & Thought Leadership:
- Develop and lead an enterprise-wide data and AI strategy that supports business innovation, leveraging technologies such as AI, data science, automation, and advanced analytics.
- Serve as a key advisor and industry thought leader, delivering insights and strategies to internal teams, clients, and partners, to drive digital transformation and modernization.
- Collaborate with strategic technology partners, including Informatica and Microsoft, to integrate advanced data solutions across platforms.
2. Service Delivery & Client Engagement:
- Own the end-to-end delivery of data and AI services, ensuring high-quality outcomes across onshore and offshore teams for both new and existing clients.
- Foster and manage relationships with clients to ensure service delivery aligns with business goals and delivers measurable results.
- Drive the development and implementation of best practices for project management, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of complex data engagements.
3. Partnerships & Business Growth:
- Collaborate closely with partners like Microsoft and Informatica to co-develop innovative data solutions, ensuring our offerings remain cutting-edge and relevant to market trends.
- Lead efforts to win new business through pre-sales engagements, proposals, and by demonstrating the value of our AI and data services to prospective clients.
- Continuously identify opportunities for expanding our service portfolio, focusing on AI, data estate modernization, cloud integration, and automation.
4. Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams located both onshore and offshore, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence in data-driven service delivery.
- Provide strategic direction and hands-on guidance to ensure teams remain aligned with the company’s vision and goals while delivering exceptional value to clients.
- Establish and maintain strong governance structures for both internal operations and client-facing engagements, ensuring scalability and consistency in delivery.
5. Innovation & Intellectual Property Development:
- Spearhead the creation of new intellectual property (IP) and product accelerators that enhance the firm's market position and provide a competitive edge for our clients.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in data, AI, and analytics, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptation within the organization.
6. Financial & Operational Oversight:
- Ensure financial performance of the data practice by managing budgets, forecasts, and resource utilization, while maintaining profitability across projects.
- Oversee operational metrics, including the development of Statements of Work (SOW), invoicing, and project timelines, ensuring operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
Key Qualifications:
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in both onshore and offshore environments, delivering high-quality service and fostering a collaborative, innovative culture.
- Strategic Partnerships: Experience working closely with technology providers, especially Microsoft and Informatica, to co-develop and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of AI, data management, and cloud integration technologies, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Informatica, with proficiency in analytics tools such as Power BI, Snowflake, ChatGPT, and Databricks.
- Business Acumen:** Demonstrated success in discussing client challenges in business terms and compelling stories growing revenue and partnership development.
- Client Leadership: A track record of serving as a trusted advisor for clients, delivering strategic insights and ensuring alignment between data initiatives and business outcomes.
Educational & Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in advanced analytics, data management, and AI/ML.
- 10+ years in leadership roles within consulting or professional services environments.
- Certifications in relevant cloud and data technologies (Microsoft, AWS, Informatica) are highly preferred.
