TEMPORARY PARALEGAL
JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
Job Description
Our Client is seeking a qualified paralegal (see qualification requirements below). The paralegal may be asked to perform the following functions:
- Prepare and maintain civil case files, including litigation matters.
- Draft agreements, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents and review drafts to ensure legal sufficiency, content accuracy and correct grammar, punctuation and formatting.
- Process public records requests under the supervision of an attorney.
- Store, organize, and locate documents, records, and files using document management software.
- File pleadings with courts.
- Submit documents for recording in the official records of Ada County.
- Provide general administrative support.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries from employees, members of the public, businesses and outside organizations and directs written correspondence and telephone calls to the appropriate person.
- Perform legal and factual research at the direction of an attorney.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in political science, paralegal studies, legal assisting, pre-law studies or an Associate's degree in paralegal studies and four years of experience in civil law, legal case management, legal research and writing, or assisting attorneys, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of: legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, document preparation and review; investigation and interview techniques; research, fact-checking and trial preparation; and computer usage, including related software.
Knowledge regarding the requirements of the Idaho Public Record Act, Title 74, Chapter 1, Idaho Code is preferred but not required.
