About the Company - We are partnered with a U.S. Bank that is seeking a Residential Mortgage Loan Officer to manage and create new residential mortgage and HELOC loan applications. This hybrid role, based in Washington, DC, focuses on maintaining a high volume of quality mortgage originations for the bank’s portfolio and institutional investors.
About the Role - Key Responsibilities:
- Build new mortgage production through relationships with referral sources.
- Assist customers with mortgage product inquiries in person, by phone, and online.
- Represent the bank to real estate brokers, builders, and financial professionals.
- Collect and review loan documentation, ensuring compliance with requirements.
- Originate loans in adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Assist with underwriting, pre-qualification, and mortgage counseling.
- Stay informed on mortgage regulations and document processes.
- Support loan processing and manage customer interactions.
Responsibilities - Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of mortgage banking experience, ideally in production.
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Familiarity with Encompass or similar loan processing systems.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Windows.
- NMLS registered or able to obtain registration.
