TMC USA South - East is interested for applicants for MRB Stress Engineer role for our partner in AeroSystems who designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers focused on affordable, innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions to support customers around the globe.
What your job will look like :
- Serve as a representative of the Engineering department on the Material Review Board (MRB) in aerospace production or pre-production settings.
- Formulate, analyze, and document dispositions for production non-conformances, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and OEM delegated standards.
- Exercise independent authority to approve or reject non-conforming aircraft components, systems, functional tests, and electrical installations while meeting tight production deadlines.
- Make disposition decisions based on a deep understanding of the design and manufacturing processes for machined parts, sheet metal, weldments, composites, and large-scale assemblies.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, strong decision-making skills, effective communication, and innovative problem-solving in both delegated and non-delegated MRB roles.
- Apply systems-thinking to enhance the manufacturability of components and resolve production issues efficiently.
- Investigate root causes of design discrepancies and propose solutions to address these issues.
- Manage projects and actively lead or participate in cross-functional teams to drive engineering and manufacturing initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Material Review Board processes in an aerospace production environment.
- Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with composite materials in design.
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 software.
- Experience managing projects and leading cross-functional teams in engineering projects.
- Experience interpreting aircraft maintenance documents, repair designs, and working with repair substantiation in settings such as airlines, FAA Part 145 Repair Stations, or OEM liaison roles.
- Proficient in applying systems-thinking to enhance maintainability and resolve performance issues in components.
- Knowledge of production and design processes, including industry-standard repair methods in the aerospace sector.
- Ability to innovate in the design and manufacturing of machined parts, sheet metal, welded assemblies, and composite components.
- Skilled in initiating design and process changes.
- Strong communication skills, decisiveness, and creativity in problem-solving.
- Ability to develop and implement technical training and curriculum.
