Position Overview: We are a leading specialty chemicals manufacturer, and are seeking a Process/Project Engineer to join our engineering team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling production processes while supporting the execution of capital projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, safety, and product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering or related fields, along with experience in process optimization and project management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process Design & Optimization:
o Develop, analyze, and optimize chemical production processes for new and existing products.
o Conduct process simulations, mass and energy balances, and safety analyses to improve system efficiency and reduce waste.
o Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues to maintain or improve product quality, yield, and throughput.
• Project Management:
o Lead cross-functional teams to deliver capital projects on time and within budget.
o Manage the design, implementation, and commissioning of new process equipment, production lines, or facility upgrades.
o Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and cost estimates.
o Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for project execution.
o Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
o Work closely with R&D, operations, and quality teams to integrate new products into the production line.
o Collaborate with manufacturing teams to monitor performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. o Implement best practices in process safety management (PSM) and operational excellence.
• Documentation & Reporting:
o Prepare and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
o Provide regular updates on project progress, including performance metrics, budget status, and risk assessments.
o Support regulatory compliance by ensuring processes adhere to environmental, safety, and industry-specific standards.
Qualifications:
• Education: o Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience:
o 3+ years of experience in process engineering, project engineering, or a related field, ideally within the specialty chemicals or industrial manufacturing sector.
o Strong knowledge of chemical process design, process control, and optimization techniques.
o Experience with project management methodologies, including familiarity with project planning, scheduling, and budget control.
o Hands-on experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and process control systems.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and process simulation
