Human Resources Generalist - (EX)

Position Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for managing the facility’s Human Resources functions, including benefits, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and compliance with employment law. This role acts as a liaison with Corporate HR to strengthen partnerships with leadership and employees at all levels.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Onboarding & Documentation: Conduct new hire onboarding and process documentation. Ensure accurate employee data entry in the HRIS system.
- HR Administration: Administer HR programs, including enrollment, termination, and status changes. Manage payroll records and submit verified records to Payroll.
- Claims & Compliance: Process and manage workers' compensation claims; assist injury investigation team. Coordinate FMLA, workers' compensation, and leave of absence documentation. Assist with implementing safety programs and ensure OSHA compliance.
- Policy Implementation: Enforce company policies and ensure consistent policy application. Partner with operations on employee relations, guiding management on legal and compliant practices.
- Legal Compliance: Audit employment law postings to ensure accuracy and adherence to state and federal laws. Apply sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Employee Engagement: Plan and coordinate employee appreciation events, wellness visits, and open enrollment activities.
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years in a true HR Generalist role, preferably in the Manufacturing / Distribution industry
- Multi-State Employment Law experience, CA Law highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws, preferably mult-state and CA Law
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and developmental skills
- Experience in employee relations and conducting investigations a must
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management, or related field preferred
- Experience with UKG (UltiPro) HRIS preferred
- Experience in a HR role within a Manufacturing, Transportation or Distribution industry
- Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus, but not required
- Occasional travel required
