Paralegal, Legal Services Specialist
Contract: 6 months
Location: onsite in Chappaqua, NY
Pay rate: $22-24 per hour
The Paralegal-Legal Services Specialist will support the Senior Director of Risk Management & Quality Assurance in coordinating comprehensive risk management and legal services, including insurance, risk management, and medico-legal matters. This role ensures efficient handling of claims, litigation, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the claims reporting program, monitoring occurrences and trending issues for potential claims
- Oversee secure file maintenance for litigated matters, coordinating interviews and gathering relevant documentation
- Notify insurance carriers, third-party administrators, physicians, and attorneys upon receipt of lawsuits
- Coordinate document and witness discovery, conduct claims analysis, manage cases, and support case closures
- Schedule and organize high-level meetings and conference calls, including:
- Calendar management
- Meeting invites and reminders
- Reserving conference rooms
- Handle all service of process requests
- Manage legal requests for physicians and coordinate scheduling for depositions and conference calls
- Perform additional administrative and support duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in risk management or legal support
- Familiarity with legal terms, medical terminology, and judiciary guidelines
- Notary Public certification preferred
Department Structure and Location:
- The legal department includes the General Counsel, five attorneys, and two paralegals; this role directly supports the Senior Director of Risk Management & Quality Assurance
- Located in Chappaqua, NY, with on-site work Monday through Friday
- Preferred hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility
