We are hiring for an Electrical and Instrumentation technician for a plant in Savannah that manufactures and operates the following products: fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts, co-catalysts and additives used by petroleum refiners to convert crude oil into gasoline, other transportation fuels, heating oil, and petrochemical feed stocks. Our portfolio serves industries such as the automotive, chemical sectors, refineries, battery manufacturers as well as the production of fuels, chemicals and plastics.
As an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for our Catalyst business unit, you will start a meaningful career and you will be responsible to install, maintain, and troubleshoot site instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment to provide safe operation with maximum production availability.
Responsibilities:
- Complete required repairs and tasks to instruments, controls, and electrical systems in an efficient, timely manner to restore or maintain safe operating capability.
- Work with process equipment programs, Ladder logic, computer skills (email/word/excel/SAP). Pressure devices/DC VFD’s is a plus.
- Be responsible for installing repairing and maintaining the Instrument and Electrical equipment, as well as encompassing the plant switch-gear installations, electrical and pneumatic system across site using drawings, manuals, or blueprints.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and computer logic to trouble shoot production problems and resolve them.
- Perform process control, sensing and monitoring system calibrations, record keeping and communicate any alterations to existing instrument (control, or electrical systems) to ensure all site records are current and proper documentation is completed.
- Recommend changes to existing instruments, controls, electrical systems, or equipment to improve reliability, accuracy, or further optimize processes. Suggest tools, equipment, or methods to improve the safety and timeliness of system repairs.
- Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in the work area.
- Complete Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations and occasionally operate forklifts and manlifts.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- I/E industrial maintenance experience.
- Possess related work experience reading loop sheets, electrical interconnect drawings, ladder logic drawings, equipment, and process instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and knowledge of prevailing electrical codes.
- Available to work a flexible schedule and occasionally overtime on nights and weekends such as call outs.
