Davies Consulting is looking for a Fircosoft Application Specialist that will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Fircosoft sanctions screening systems and related services within the Compliance Technology division. This role ensures that our sanction screening infrastructure supports our regulatory requirements and operational needs, particularly in AML and KYC compliance. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and support teams to resolve production issues, manage updates to sanctions lists, and execute system upgrades.
This a 2 day a week onsite 6 month contract at $110/hr. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient with Fircosoft applications, detail-oriented, and capable of exercising discretion and independent judgment to achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Development and Maintenance: Plan, design, and implement code/configurations for Fircosoft applications, including Firco Continuity and Firco Trust.
- Requirements Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses to determine and document business requirements, workflows, and project deliverables.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot issues across environments, perform root cause analyses, and deliver timely, high-quality solutions to ensure system reliability.
- Customer Support: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering solutions to issues affecting mission-critical systems.
- Monitoring and List Management: Monitor and support applications that use the Dow Jones Factiva list and regularly update sanctions lists as needed.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate proactively with business users, support teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, handling various priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test cases and scripts for system changes and new releases.
- System Upgrades: Coordinate system software upgrades in collaboration with users to ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Fircosoft Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with Fircosoft applications, including Firco Continuity and Firco Trust, as well as utilities such as FMM, FML, FUM, and FFFClassic. Experience with Firco Continuity V6 upgrades is a plus.
- Compliance and Risk Management Knowledge: Strong understanding of sanctions screening, AML transaction monitoring, and other compliance functions.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in UNIX and Windows shell scripting for process automation.
- SQL scripting experience with databases such as Oracle or MS SQL.
- Experience with scheduling software tools (e.g., TWS) and file transfer processes (e.g., MQFTE) is preferred.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Development Methodologies: Experience working in both waterfall and agile development environments.
- Financial Services Experience: Familiarity with the business-critical nature of compliance systems in a financial services setting, especially those supporting real-time payments.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
